OHANEZE NDI IGBO Speaks on Anambra election and Nnamdi Kanu

ADDRESS TO ANAMBRA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY BY PRESIDENT GENERAL OF OHANEZE NDIGBO CHIEF JOHN NNIA NWODO ON THURSDAYS 29TH JUNE 2017.

Mr. speaker sir,

Honourable members of Anambra state House of assembly.

I am delighted to be here in this honourable house to share thoughts with you on a number of issues confronting our people in this state and Igbo land as a whole.

Anambra state is outstanding amongst the various states in Igboland.   I have in facts held in many quarters that Anambra claims more than 50% of blessings the Almighty God showered on Igbo people. Let me give a few examples.

1. The only Igbo man that has been president of Nigeria ( even if ceremonial) H.E. Hon. Dr. Nnamdi  Azikiwe is from Anambra.

2. The only Igbo man that have ever attained the exalted office of elected vice president of Nigeria Dr. Alex Ekwueme is from Anambra.

3. An Anambra son, Dim Odimegwu  Ojukwu is the only Igbo man to have been referred to as Head of state of Republic of  Biafra.

4. Of all Igbo states, no state has produces two Senate presidents ( Dr. Best Of Orizu and Dr. Chuba Okadigbo) except Anambra state.

5. Similarly no Igbo state is yet to beat the record of Anambra state in producing two speakers of the federal house of representatives namely Chief Edwin Umezuoke  and Chief Agunwa Anakwe.

6. In the international political arena the only Nigerian that has occupied the office of the secretary General of the Commonwealth is from Anambra state, Chief Emeka Anyaoku.

In all fields of learning and enterprise Anambra' s distinction is unparalleled. In ICT Philip Emegwali, in Literature , Chinua Achebe, Cyprian Ekwensi, Chimamamda Adichie stand out significantly.  I shall  not bore you with more names in commerce and industry and other fields of endeavour.  But suffice it to say that Anambra state is outstanding in Igbo land.

Today Anambra has the

50 YEARS AFTER BIAFRA: Chief Nnia Nwodo Jnr, President of Ohanaze Ndigbo Speech at the Yar Adua center

Find below the speech of the President of Ohanaze Ndigbo Chief Nnia Nwodo Jnr at the Yar Adua center on 50 years of Biafra. The Acting President Prof Yemi Osinbajo and Chief Olusegun Obasanjo were guests.

50 YEARS AFTER BIAFRA:  REFLECTIONS AND HOPES

PROTOCOLS:

1. I am grateful to Shehu Musa Yar Adua Foundation, Ford Foundation and OSIWA - the co-sponsors of this event for your kind invitation. I commend your foresight in convening this conference, the first major conference discussing Biafra outside of Igboland. Nigeria. In hosting this conference the Yar’Adua Centre, which is best known for promoting national cohesion, honours the legacy of a great patriot: Shehu Musa Yar Adua. He died building bridges of understanding across our nation. I salute his family and associates for sustaining the legacy of Shehu through the works of this Foundation.

2.  It is significant that you have chosen to harvest sober memories of Biafra. By so doing, you help us to wisely situate today’s talks of Biafra in the proper context: namely, as an opportunity for nation building; and not - as an invitation for invectives or recrimination.

3. 50 years ago, Nigeria faced disintegration by the declaration of the Republic of Biafra. Biafra was born out of the political crisis which engulfed Nigeria at that time. The crisis began with the struggle for leadership in the Western Region of Nigeria, the declaration of state of emergency in the West, the coup of January 1966, the counter coup of July 1966, the pogroms, the declaration of Biafra and the commencement of a police action that turned into a three years civil war.

4.  I hope that our gathering today may contribute to

MY NEW YEAR MESSAGE

"And the Lord VISITED Sarah as HE HAD SAID, and the LORD DID UNTO Sarah as HE HAD SPOKEN.

For Sarah CONCEIVED, AND BARE Abraham a SON in his old age, AT THE SET TIME OF WHICH GOD HAD SPOKEN to him." Gen. 21: 1 - 2.

In this 2017, just like Sarah, the Almighty God shall accomplish that which He promised you.

He is a covenant keeping God. He is a faithful God. He does not and will never change. Whatever He said He would do, He will do. His words are His guarantee. And His words are capable of bringing into existence that which He said.

Here is what He said, "For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
So shall my WORD be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall NOT RETURN unto me void, but it shall ACCOMPLISH that which I please, and it shall PROSPER in the thing whereto I sent it." Isaiah 55: 10 - 11.

I charge you to dare to believe God and you shall see His goodness come to fulfilment in your life this year.

Don't look upon your circumstances, financial situation or the recession. Look up to God for He is your HELPER.

God kept you alive and  brought you into 2017 for a purpose, and that purpose is to settle you. God Himself will help you. He did it for Abraham and Sarah, He will do much more for you. (Isaiah 51:1-3).

There is hope for you. It shall be well with you and everything concerning you (Isaiah 3:10).

All you need to do is to be in right standing with the Lord.  Accept Him as your Lord and personal saviour. He will take care of you.

In Psalms 37:25, David said, "I have been young, and now am old; yet I have I not seen the RIGHTEOUS FORSAKEN, NOR HIS SEED BEGGING BREAD."

Rejoice and be glad.  Since  you made it into 2017, there is great hope for you. Everything is already working together for your good (Romans 8: 28).

It is your year of mercy.
It is your year of favour.
It is your year of success.
It is your year of victory.
It is your year of breakthrough.
It is your year of progress.
It is your year of promotion.
It is your year of prosperity.
It is your year of divine health.

God has opened a new chapter for you. Remain positive and focused because great and mighty miracles are locating you now. So shall it be, in Jesus name. Amen.

Welcome into a new week.
Welcome into a new month.
Welcome into a new year.

I wish you a more Healthy and Prosperous 2017. Happy New Year.
God bless you.
